This is one of our recommended tours. We will visit the Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve, the archaeological sites of Ek-Balam, Chichen-Itza and Uxmal, the cenotes Xcanahaltun, Ik-Kil, Kankirixche, Homun and Cuzama, the Pueblos Magicos of Izamal and Valladolid, and the beautiful "white city", Mérida.
We will take a boat ride through the estuary of the Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve, the favorite place for thousands of flamingos to feed and rest. We will also have the opportunity to see other species of birds and with some luck, amphibians and reptiles too. Inside the mangrove, we will visit an area with dead trees, known as the "petrified forest" and a fresh water spring where we can swim and refresh ourselves. Finally, at Celestún beach, we will enjoy the sunset before going back to Merida.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: Ria Celestun – Real de Salinas - Celestun Beach
9:00 a. m.: Depart Mérida for Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve.
Boat tour of the estuary, home to flamingos and other birds such as cormorants and frigates. Get your camera ready!. Visit the "petrified forest" and a freshwater spring for a swim. Next, visit Real de Salinas and its pink evaporation ponds.
Return to Celestun Beach for dinner and sunset.
Night in Merida.

DAY 2: EK BALAM – XCANAHALTUN CENOTE – VALLADOLID
7:00 a. m. Breakfast at the hotel.
8:00 a. m.: Head to the amazing archaeological site of Ek-Balam, an ancient Mayan city. Visit the Xcanahaltun cenote for a swim in its turquoise waters.
In the afternoon, explore Valladolid’s main square, San Servacio Church, and San Bernardino de Siena convent.
Night in Valladolid
8:00 a. m.: Head to the amazing archaeological site of Ek-Balam, an ancient Mayan city. Visit the Xcanahaltun cenote for a swim in its turquoise waters.
In the afternoon, explore Valladolid’s main square, San Servacio Church, and San Bernardino de Siena convent.
Night in Valladolid
DÍA 3: CHICHEN-ITZA – IK-KIL CENOTE – IZAMAL
6:30 a. m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 a. m.: Visit Chichen-Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Swim in Ik-Kil cenote, if you like diving, this is the place!. Continue to Izamal, a "magical town" with a yellow colonial vibe. Visit the Convent of San Antonio de Padua and the Kinich Kak Mó pyramid.
Return to Mérida.
Night in Mérida
7:30 a. m.: Visit Chichen-Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Swim in Ik-Kil cenote, if you like diving, this is the place!. Continue to Izamal, a "magical town" with a yellow colonial vibe. Visit the Convent of San Antonio de Padua and the Kinich Kak Mó pyramid.
Return to Mérida.
Night in Mérida
DAY 4: CUZAMA CENOTES - HOMUN CENOTES - FREE AFTERNOON IN MERIDA
7:00 a. m. Breakfast at the hotel.
8:00 a. m.: Visit Cuzama's cenotes via horse-drawn cart. Explore cenotes Chan-Ucil, Chak-Zinik-Ché, and Bolon Chojol. Continue to Homun for cenotes Balmil and Hool-Kozom. The Ring of Cenotes, a State Geohydrological Reserve, is aligned with the crater of a meteorite that fell 65 million years ago, near Chicxulub, Yucatan.
Return to Mérida in the afternoon.
Night in Merida
8:00 a. m.: Visit Cuzama's cenotes via horse-drawn cart. Explore cenotes Chan-Ucil, Chak-Zinik-Ché, and Bolon Chojol. Continue to Homun for cenotes Balmil and Hool-Kozom. The Ring of Cenotes, a State Geohydrological Reserve, is aligned with the crater of a meteorite that fell 65 million years ago, near Chicxulub, Yucatan.
Return to Mérida in the afternoon.

8:00 a. m.: Explore Uxmal, a key Puuc region site, visit the Pyramid of the Magician, the Quadrangle of the Nuns and the Governor's Palace. Head to Kankirixche cenote to swim in its clear and calm waters. Tour Yaxcopoil hacienda, highlighting Yucatan's henequen history.
Return to Mérida.
